As we have already begun to describe Human Papilloma Virus spreads by skin to skin contact during vaginal, oral and anal sex and is estimated to affect 1% of the sexually active population aged between 16 and 50.

Warts and corns can be treated at home when accessible on the body, and not in a sensitive location. The idea is to remove thickened, diseased skin without damaging surrounding healthy tissue, and by so doing help the body to win over on the virus by removin the seat of the infection.

In the case of genital wart problems though home care is not really satisfactory, and you should obtain medical advice from the start and as soon as you see them.

Warts will not normally leave scars, though some of the more aggressive wart therapies might. The fact is though that you can re-infect yourself again by touching the wart and then another part of your body.

Warts may be frozen with various commercial freezing probes or with liquid nitrogen sprayed on or applied with a cotton swab. Cryotherapy is often used for plantar warts and warts under the fingernails.

Physicians themselves have said in the past that they do not know how to get rid of genital warts, making it difficult to keep coming back to get genital warts removed. Costly surgical procedures often leave scars, are painful, and require a significant amount of healing time.

Salicylic acid is the chemical most often found in over the counter products. Another similar acting chemical is retinoic acid. Salicylic acid is commonly used to treat normal warts, and some believe that it would help their genital wart condition, but they could be no more wrong. Using home cures such as salicylic acid can only damage your body.

The Scariest of Diseases - Genital Warts

e most embarrassing diseases that an individual can get is genital warts. Genital warts are a particular type of sexually transmitted diseases, usually caused by HPV (human pappllomavirus). It can be transmitted from one partner to another by direct skin contact during sexual intercourse. Any kind of sexual activity, such as oral, anal or vaginal sex can lead to transmission of genital warts from a healthy partner to another.

Genital warts can be easily identified as a genital HPV infection. Severe case of genital warts can also lead to cervical cancer in women. Many people may tend to confuse genital warts with other benign anal warts but genital warts are entirely different. They can be identified as fleshy, raised growths on the genital areas of an individual. They generally occur in clusters. Genital warts can be extremely small or can even grow eventually to transform into large masses of clusters in the penis area.

Genital warts are most commonly seen in men. Men are affected by genital warts on specific areas, such as the tip of penis. Some other genital areas may also include shaft of the penis, the area around the penis and on the scrotum. On the other hand, women are less prone to genital warts but are at a risk, nevertheless, if they engage in sexual activity with an infected person.

In women, genital warts are usually less prominent compared to men. Women can suffer from genital warts on the inside and outside area of their vagina, on the outer opening of the cervix or the uterus.

In some of the rarest cases, it is possible that an individual may develop genital warts in their mouth or the area around their throat, if they have had oral sex with the infected partner. Genital warts occur when the viral particles of the infection are able to penetrate through the skin of the other partner via the microscopic abrasions which may occur in the genital area during the sexual activity. It may be possible that the HPV may not get transformed into a fully fledged genital wart for quite a number of months or even years, after they are transferred from an infected partner to another partner.

In certain cases, it is usually seen that individuals are not able to identify whether they are suffering from genital warts or not, as the virus has not yet taken shape of the wart, but it is there nevertheless. In certain cases, it may be possible that these genital warts may disappear on their own, even if the individual does not seek proper medication for them.

Finally, it can never be said whether a genital wart will disappear gradually or transform into a more prominent, raised growth. However, there are a number of medications and topical treatments available on the market, which can help to treat genital warts, depending on its size and the exact location where the warts have occurred.

Am I Safe From Genital Warts?

Genital warts are very common. Health experts states that more than a million new cases of genital warts are diagnosed in the United States every year. Unfortunately, the number continues to increase. Based on the most recent health surveys, the prevalence of genital warts among citizens in the United States have increased twice faster than the prevalence rate of genital herpes in the past ten years.

However, not everyone who has the infection manifests symptoms. In fact, only one percent of the HPV infected population develops visible signs and symptoms. That is why you may actually have genital warts but not know about it.

What causes Genital Warts?

Genital Warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). This refers to a group of viruses comprised of more than eighty types. All of these types can cause wounds, lesions, sores, and warts. The most common of these types are Type 6, Type 11, Type 16, and Type 18. Type 6 and 11 are considered as the low-risk HPV types because they are more associated with skin lesions and sores. In contrast, Types 16 and 18 are classified as high risk types since they can cause abnormal cell growth (neoplasia or dysplasia). Such cell malfunction can cause cancers of the cervix or the anus.

How are warts passed on?

Although genital warts are very common, there are ways in avoiding victimization by this plague. To ensure your safety from genital warts, you should be aware of how the HPV virus spreads.

a. The HPV virus can easily be transmitted from one person to another by having sexual intercourse. A person who is sexually active is also highly at risk for genital warts. Regardless of gender and your age, this group is very vulnerable to the infection.

b. The HPV virus can spread not only through actual sexual intercourse. If a person has genital warts and you share the same sex toys, the virus will be transmitted just the same.

c. You don’t need to have penetrative sex to get genital warts. The virus can be easily transmitted through skin to skin contact. Close genital contact can spread the virus.

d. If you are having sexual intercourse with a person with genital warts, you can still get the HPV virus even if you are using a condom. This is because condoms do not cover the entire part of the genital area. As such, you are still highly at risk from transmission through skin to skin contact.

e. The absence of genital warts in a person with HPV virus should not be regarded as an indication that HPV transmission is improbable. Keep it mind that even though genital warts are not visibly present, you can still get the HPV virus.

f. If you have oral sex with a person that has genital warts or a person with the HPV virus, you can develop warts in your lips or in your mouth.

g. If genital warts develop in your genital area, it is highly probable for you to develop warts around your anal area even without anal sex.

h. If no lesions or sores are present from a person infected with the HPV virus, it will not be transmitted through kissing, hugging, sharing towels and utensils, bathing in the same pool, and using the same toilet.

I Used to Suffer From Genital Warts

It’s not everyday that I sit around thinking about genital warts, but I can assure you that on this particular day I was. And it was while I was pondering about just what it was that someone would want to know about genital warts, when it came to me that it might be a good idea if you, the reader, were to have a background picture of why I came to write about this topic in particular.

Genital warts is not something that is readily spoken about, and it’s definitely not something that you would even think about writing in the normal course of events. Could it have been because I, myself, suffered from this potentially embarrassing and particularly bothersome problem? Or maybe I knew someone who suffered from these unpleasant genital warts.

Then again there’s always the possibility that I’m an experienced, or even budding, member of the medical profession and just couldn’t keep all this information to myself! So without further ado, here it is in all its glory: I used to suffer from genital warts. In fact I was a recurrent sufferer up until very recently. I didn’t find any miracle cure to stop my genital warts, and it wasn’t, at least for me, one particular remedy that worked.

It was instead a combination of a number of methods which I had tried over the years. Obviously not everything worked, but when something did, I made a note of it and used that in conjunction with other treatments. Finally I was able to get rid of my genital warts, and to this day it’s been two years since I had a recurrence.

So I thought I’d share my knowledge and experience with fellow sufferers. As I know in the battle of genital warts, every little helps. That’s why I’ve included most of the remedies which I’ve tried and a few which I’ve been told work like a charm.

You might be wondering why I would bother to mention any of the remedies which didn’t work for me, after all if they didn’t work for me, why should they work for you?

A funny thing happens though when people try out any type of genital warts remedies. Some people find the remedies work for them, others find that it does nothing whatsoever for them, and still others find themselves reacting adversely to them.

So before we go any further I would like to caution you to first do one of two things before you try these genital warts remedies. Either, Consult with you doctor beforehand to find out if these genital warts remedies are safe for you to try, or if they will in anyway react with any other medication that you might be taking. and/ or Read any labeling and information carefully, follow directions exactly, and first do a small test to see if you’re allergic to whatever remedy you’re trying out. After that’s taken care of you should then be able to proceed with whatever cure or remedy you had in mind.

Just remember that it’s also a good idea to keep a small log of the genital warts remedies that you’ve tried so that you don’t go through the same ones all over again, and so that just in case you do suffer from an adverse reaction then all of the information needed is at hand. Doing this will also help you to make sure that you don’t mix ’n’ match any remedies!

Genital Warts Medicine

There are different ways that you can contract genital warts just as there are many different genital warts medicine treatments available. Actually, it’s probably a tossup as to which one comes out the clear winner in sheer numbers.

For one thing, genital warts medicine doesn’t need to be restricted only to medicinal and surgical treatments. They can also include such things as natural remedies, herbal remedies, holistic approaches as well as alternative genital warts medicine treatment methods.

Of course not everyone feels comfortable with going down this particular route and will instead stick to the more normal practices of scientific genital warts medicine.

For other people however, for whom these standard methods of treatment have waned over the years, the alternative approaches to genital warts medicine treatments is just what they needed.

The problem which arises here is not that of these alternative approaches being wrong or unduly dangerous. It lies instead in the fact that most people will try and treat themselves without having first obtained a proper diagnosis.

This might be stating the obvious, but not having gone through the rigors of medical school yourself, the average layperson is in no way qualified to diagnose and treat themselves.

Besides which, if you resort to taking over-the-counter medications to treat your genital warts you are not using proper genital warts medicine. The over-the-counter medications which can be readily found are not suitable due to their strong nature and should not be used as a genital warts medicine.

Proper genital warts medicine can only be obtained through a prescription, and even then you will find that the medication needs to be applied by trained medical personnel.

Also, these types of genital warts medicine cannot, in just about all of the cases, be used by women who are pregnant as the medicine can have a harmful effect on the unborn fetus.

The same applies for people who have other underlying medical conditions which will prevent them from taking the prescription genital warts medicine.

On the other hand, if people are looking for a readily available genital warts medicine which is also all natural, they have no further to look than their kitchen. Garlic, and Vinegar is the order of the day, along with such items as Onions, Shitake mushrooms, Apple juice, Pineapple and even Green tea.

All of these ordinary items can be turned around to help you fight off the HPV infection. They are all good genital wart medicine treatments and can be used without fear of side effects. That is of course if you’re not allergic to any of these ingredients!
